If your country is not listed, please contact your local emergency services.
If someone needs urgent help due to their mental health, for example if you think they might attempt suicide or self-harm, or have seriously harmed themselves, they need to seek medical help.
• If they are not safe by themselves right now, call them emergency services and stay with them until the emergency services arrive – refer to the list below for contact numbers
• If they are in need of help, but it is not an emergency, encourage them to contact their own doctor, or local suicide support organisations, if these are available – some are listed below.
The following resources from the UK contain local advice, but much can be applied to the overseas context.
