Mental Health Coach based in Switzerland

About me

I am a Swiss citizen who was born in Jamaica to Jamaican and Swiss parents, grew up in London and am now living in Vienna where I am completing my Masters in Psychotherapy Science. As such, I have a unique perspective as it relates to integration and identity. Having always been somewhat out of the norm myself, I am intimately familiar with feeling isolated and experiencing the need to reach out and make connections. This is why, as a mental health care professional, I have always been driven by the need to create a space of understanding and instil a sense of being understood in my clients.

Alongside my career as a mental health coach, I am, at heart, a die-hard academic and researcher, currently working with the trauma institute of my alma mater. I hold degrees in History and Politics as well as Psychotherapy Science. Being from a multiracial background, I was inspired to pursue research in the area of race relations, racial identity and systemic racism. I have written two theses surrounding these topics and am currently writing a third that focuses on the intersection between being a person of colour and womanhood. Aside from my work as a researcher and as a psychosocial support consultant for adolescents, I also run corporate workshops. Specifically, I provide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops for international companies. I eat, sleep and breathe mental health. When I’m not actively coaching, I am doing research in the mental health care field, constantly aiming to refine and redefine the way we treat people from every possible walk of life.

My Approach

I use an integrative approach consisting of person centred, psychodynamic psychotherapeutic tools. I am primarily trained in the psychoanalytic approach and often work with tools such as free association in order to uncover the deeper drives and structures we each hold within us. Yet, having studied psychotherapy science at the Sigmund Freud University, Vienna, I have been exposed to a number of methods and psychotherapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt and Individual Psychology. Due to my education in various psychotherapeutic approaches, I am a strong believer in treating not only based on one theory or approach, but rather in tailoring my method to the individual needs of my clients. I am aware that not all of us want or need to revisit our past in order to face our present and improve our future. My approach is therefore multidimensional. My aim is to work with my client to find what works best for them as an individual and create a therapeutic space that honours their individuality.ic and CBT. This allows for an individual tailored approach to suit each client’s unique needs.
